Reflecting Christ

We desire to walk as Jesus walked, in self-control, joy and humility, depending on His Spirit to sanctify us and transform us with the fruits of His Spirit.

Colossians 4:6   Let your conversations be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Galations 5:22-25  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control…those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires…let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Trustworthiness

We believe honest, transparent and consistent behavior promotes trust and credibility.

I Corinthians 4:2   Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance…

Respect for self. Respect for others.

We respect ourselves deeply because our Creator formed us in His image. We give respect generously, showing honor, dignity and a person’s true potential in Christ.

1 Peter 2:17   Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

Colossians 3:12-13   Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance …forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Collaboration and unity, through diversity.

We embrace diversity and seek healthy relationships bound by a shared vision, characterized by a culture of grace and honor toward each other.   As we serve each other, we can endure and thrive. We will intentionally confront any ethnic discrimination as it arises. We will be proactive in living in God’s grace and respect - not our earthly culture.

1 Corinthians 3:9   For we are co-workers in God’s service…

1 Peter 3:8   Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

Psalm 133:1-3   How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity…for there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

Vision and Quality

We expect excellence and will strive for professionalism in all we do; in how we live, in how we design and model our ministries, on our campus, in special events, and in our plans and operations, because we are called to display the splendor of Jesus Christ. We will be led by the vision God has given us, while at the same time being wise stewards of all that God provides. We will not let our deficiencies dictate our ministry.

Proverbs 29:18   Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.

I Corinthians 10:31-33   So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God... For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

Innovation

We appreciate creativity and innovation. In today’s rapidly changing world, methods and programs must be continually evaluated, and if necessary, altered to fit new conditions and social change.  While proven techniques should not be discarded on a whim, we encourage creativity and innovation, flexibility and adaptability.   We are more concerned with effectiveness in ministry than with adherence to tradition.

1 Chronicles 12:32  …men who knew the times and understood what Israel should do…

Philippians 3:13 …forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead…
